Windows Market Share - Everyday Windows

As of my knowledge cutoff in 2021, Windows had a dominant market share among desktop and laptop operating systems, with estimates ranging from approximately 75% to 80%. This means that the majority of personal computers around the world were running some version of Windows.

Windows' market share is due in part to its widespread adoption by businesses and organizations, which often use Windows-based computers for their employees. Windows also has a long history of being the default operating system on many consumer PCs sold by major manufacturers such as Dell, HP, and Lenovo.

Despite this dominance, Windows faces increasing competition from other operating systems, including macOS (used by Apple computers), Chrome OS (used by Google's Chromebook laptops), and various Linux distributions. However, as of my knowledge cutoff in 2021, Windows remained the most widely used operating system for everyday computing tasks.
